Registration for AAYLC 2025

What is AAYLC?

Through a diverse range of activities, workshops, and presentations, Asian American Youth Leadership Conference (AAYLC) aims to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation to learn and grow. This year, AAYLC's 2025 theme is "Igniting Innovation." This annual event is organized by a team of students and community volunteers.

How can high schools and students participate?

Schools should register on our website during an available time window. All schools are limited to registering a maximum of 10 students (this does not include Student Ambassadors). We do not have an option for students to register for the conference independent of their schools, sorry!

From January 19th, 2025 - February 15th, 2025 (4 Weeks): Registration is OPEN to all schools. Schools that register during Open Registration are generally guaranteed their spot in the conference. Please note that it is likely that we reach our capacity for Open Registration before the deadline of Feb 15th. When the capacity for Open Registration is reached, then Registration will switch to Limited Status immediately until March 15th.

From February 16th, 2025 to March 15th, 2025 (4 Weeks): Registration is LIMITED, but still available to schools who were unable to register during Open Registration. This period of time allows schools with extenuating circumstances to have an opportunity to register. Schools that register during this time are not guaranteed their spot in the conference, much like a waitlist. During this time, schools may include additional information detailing how their students could uniquely benefit from this opportunity (ie. having a smaller Asian population at school, or having limited exposure to positive Asian influences). For schools who are part of Limited Registration, you will be notified if your registration is confirmed. Please DO NOT submit payment before your registration is confirmed.

From March 16th, 2025 to April 11th, 2025: Registration is CLOSED while we finalize information leading up to the conference. Schools that are part of Limited Registration will receive emails on a case by case basis if their registration is confirmed.

What is the purpose behind these guidelines and what’s new this year?

Size: 10 students per school and reduced conference capacity

Based on both your feedback from last year’s conference and our own learning, we are aiming to moderate the size of the conference. Although we want to include schools and students as much as possible, we want to be realistic about the limits of our manpower and preserve the conference’s quality and atmosphere from feeling crowded.

Accessibility - Limited Registration

At its core, AAYLC is a conference designed for Asian-American Youth to have a specialized space for learning and community that may not be available to them in their schools or local community. As a result, we are making an effort to make our conference accessible to students who may be disadvantaged at registering due to challenges in their school or other circumstances out of their control.

Thank you for your understanding of these changes. For questions, contact Justin Li, AAYLC Registration Director at registration@aaylc.org.

FAQ

What happens if my school registered, but some or none of us can make it to the conference?

For this reason, we highly recommend that school staff keep their own “waitlist” so that in the event that any students cannot make it, other students can attend in their place. If any students cannot attend that have already been registered, we sincerely hope that you can find other students to attend in their place, as that would be the smoothest solution.
